About Me & This Blog

I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support. ~ Anne Frank, June 12, 1942
I thought the above quote was a fitting introduction to my blog. For one thing, Anne Frank's diary is the only book that I liked enough to read twice. Second, I've been interested in writing since a very early age. And third, June 12 was also my dad's birthday. When Anne Frank wrote the above quote, Daddy was 10 years old.  I currently keep a personal journal where I explore my thought and feelings. I used to write a newspaper column for the bicycle club I was a member of. I also like to write articles or essays for my personal pleasure and sometimes share them with family and friends. My inspiration for starting this diary was the passing of my Dad on Oct. 23, 2009. He was taken away from us so sudden and unexpected. We had no time to prepare for his passing like we did our Mother.
This blog is where I want to share with you my musings and thoughts on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to, life, death, family, friends, my struggles with addiction, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
Many of these posts you will find serious in nature. I’ve been told that I can get into subjects rather “deep”. I like to think of it as being philosophical. There  are other times when I will try to lighten the mood.
I hope you enjoy your stay at Musings Of An Obsessive Mind!

Grief is a tidal wave that over takes you, smashes down upon you with unimaginable force, sweeps you up into its darkness, where you tumble and crash against unidentifiable surfaces, only to be thrown out on an unknown beach, bruised, reshaped...Grief will make a new person out of you,if it doesn't kill you in the making.- Stephanie Ericsson
